Christopher Bettencourt
Christopher Bettencourt is a professional builder and developer with 40
years of experience in design-build construction, historical restoration and
preservation and real estate development. He is also a master electrician
and president of B.E.C., Bettencourt Electrical Contractors Inc., a leader in
the electrical construction field for over four decades.
New Sherborne Farms Development began with a vision of developing a
thriving community on 500 acres of vestal land within the beautiful town of
Douglas, MA.
As a lifelong resident of Uxbridge, MA, Chris prioritized having a positive
impact on his neighboring town of Douglas and vowed to create a viable
environment where everyone could flourish.
New Sherborne Farms’ mission is to exemplify quality at every stage of
the custom residential building process and cultivate a symbiotic
relationship between the customer and builder, culminating in the “Dream
Home” specific to every client.

‘WINFIELD HALL’- THE FW WOOLWOTH ESTATE Glen Cove, NY
Built in 1918, Winfield Hall sits on 16+ acres and boasts 56 rooms with monumental era details,
12 bedrooms, 9.5 baths and 16 marble fireplaces. Prominent auxiliary buildings include a
15,000 square foot stone carriage house with clock tower, teahouse and belvedere. In 2015,
there was substantial fire destroying 40% of the building. A four year restoration project ensued
that included historically accurate reconstruction of the interior, exterior marble façade, 156
windows and new infrastructure.
‘CASHELMARA’- PRYBIL ESTATE Glen Cove, NY
Cashelmara is a 1938 historically significant estate of 32,802 sf sitting on 6.4 acres. A total of 55
rooms, including 27 bedrooms, 12.5 bathrooms, 1,350 sf grand ballroom, 1,400 sf indoor twin
lane bowling alley, a 8,580 sq. ft. indoor clay tennis court with 55’ high ceilings and an outdoor
swimming pool and gardens.
In 2018 we completed a 2.5 year state of the art turn-key rehabilitation and renovation to the
property and grounds.
